This amazing Japan

June 6 and 7 the pupils of the schools №54 and №13 visited the Kherson WOA. We spoke about Japan. Children listened and watched much about Japanese history, culture, traditions, mentality et cetera. It was also Japanese quiz and the task to write Haiku. The winners were awarded by WOA prizes as usual.

Library never has holidays

The program “Summer in the library” is going on. June 3 the pupils of the schools №57 and №32 visited the Kherson WOA. The first group listened about national parks of the USA and Ukraine and had some tasks. The second one played “Fort Boyard”. Both groups also visited the WOA ...

About national parks

June 1 the 10-th form pupils of the school №54 visited the Kherson WOA. Children listened about American and Ukrainian national parks, had some entertainment, tasks and natural history quiz. The winners were awarded by WOA caps and notepads.

Memorial Day

May 28 the library’s “Window on America” weekly talk-club meeting was attended by 11 users. Club members had a happy opportunity to talk to native speaker. He told much about Memorial Day observance in the USA. Then they were speaking about the situation in Ukraine and the war in Donbas.

Mother's Day

May 14 the library’s “Window on America” weekly talk-club meeting was attended by 11 users. In the United States Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May. Club members talked about their mothers. Then they had some kind of Spelling Bee.

The story of success

Tetyana Petruk one of the Kherson WOA users had online courses of media literacy in April 2017 and successfully completed them yesterday. She got the University of Pennsylvania certificate of media literacy. Our congratulations!

Sundial

The Kherson WOA center has created a sundial on its 3D printer. This device can be used at schools for children’s creative abilities development.
