Studying Foreign Languages

The topic of the next meeting of the Speaking club at Window on America center in Kherson was the study of foreign languages. Tom Laughlin, the club facilitator, and an experienced English teacher explained the difference between children and adults who study foreign languages. Usually, children are not embarrassed to make mistakes. He advised the audience to follow this example and do away with shyness while learning and developing language skills. The participants talked about the languages they speak with family and friends, the languages they study, and the number of languages they can order pizza. They were also surprised by the linguistic diversity of the United States.
