The pot calls the kettle black
"Some would say it but you are silent" or......
Visitors of the talk club "English for Everyone" gathered as usual in the 'Window of America" and were 'tickled pink' because they 'brought home the bacon' in 'apple-pie order', having become acquainted with american idioms. Our regular visitors explained in English the phraseology of various words, looked for Ukrainian-Russiain equivalents to them and even put together idiomatic expressions from those words. Familiarity with the world of idioms complemented the reading of situational texts from everyday life to such topics as elections in the USA and how they differ in each individual state. Discussion of the assigned topic lead to the situation in Ukraine and differences between the USA and Ukraine. There were so many that there was not enough time to cover all of them, even in two hours of socializing among the club participants. Photo.

Hello, I do not think we felt that there were so many differences between the United States and Ukraine. I think our discussion was more about the differences and the similarities....and we talked about a few of each. I do not feel, and I believe our members of the Talk Lab feel, that Americans and Ukrainians are extremely different. We share similar goals, dreams, problems, etc.
