Project: Official USA flag. Grade: B
Did you know that the current flag of the US was designed by a 17-year-old. His name was Robert G. Heft and he did it as a school project. He originally received a B– for the project. After discussing the grade with his teacher, it was agreed that if the flag was accepted by Congress, the grade would be reconsidered. Heft's flag design was adopted in 1959. According to Heft, his teacher did keep to their agreement and changed his grade to an A for the project.
This and other interesting facts were learned by pupils of the 6th and 7th grades of the Kherson specialized school № 27, to which came the employees of the Kherson “Window on America” Center and held a country study quiz “Additional question”. We found out that students knew much about this topic. The quiz included questions of regional geography and literature.
