"Mosaic of European Languages": Kherson in the Dialogue of Cultures

Kherson Regional Universal Scientific Library organized an interactive linguistic game “Mosaic of European Languages”, timed to coincide with the European Day of Languages, which is celebrated annually on September 26. The event became part of a joint project of the library and the Kherson City Center for Professional Development of Pedagogical Workers.

132 participants at the event discovered the linguistic diversity of Europe, compared cultures, and sought common ground that unites people. The game became a platform for discoveries:

• students learned interesting facts about European languages;
• recognized phrases in different languages;
• looked for common ground between languages ​​and cultures;
• and most importantly, felt like part of a large European family.

This day reminds us that every language is an integral part of culture and identity, and that knowledge of languages helps foster dialogue between people and countries.
