Draw the House of Your Dreams
Game-based learning is one of the main methods of teaching in junior schools because it increases a child’s memory capacity, helps with fast strategic thinking and problem-solving. Games feel more like a form of entertainment than a method of learning. However, they contain certain aspects which help children with English language skills. That’s why Victoria, the youth leader of «Window on America» in Kherson, prefers choosing them for the English language club for children 6-10 years old. On Sunday, December 15, the visitors repeated the words of the topic «My home. My Room». They also learned new ones. They draw their dream house together and called all the rooms and objects in English. An episode from «Peppa Pig», animated television series, also helped to remind the words of the mentioned topic and to prepare children for learning a foreign language.
