Honorary Cossack of Ukraine

Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is the governmental organization of extracurricular education units in research and experimental area. It is an integral, multilevel system of recognition and selection of gifted children. Within this organization children work due to 40 scientific directions.
Oles Honchar Kherson Regional Universal Scientific library's " Window on America" center is a rich source of materials for such  kind of works.
Pupils of Kherson Specialized School of Humanities decided to research the Kherson part of John Paul Jones’s life.
John Paul Jones was a naval fighter in the American Revolution and now is considered to be one of the American navy founders.
In 1788 John Paul Jones was invited to Russian service and took part in Russian-Turkish war for southern part of Ukraine. Ukrainian Cossacks he was serving with made him Honorary Cossack of Zaporizhia Lower Army.
Pupils could find many proper documents in the library’s “Window on America” center named after John Paul Jones.
