Innovations in Action: “Maker Space” - Space of Opportunities

With support from the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, the Maker Space at the Kherson «Window on America» center is resuming operations. The space previously operated at the Oles Honchar Kherson Regional Universal Scientific Library and is now returning in an updated, innovative format.

Currently available equipment includes a 3D printer, 3D scanner, plotter, interactive table, and 3D pens. Maker Space offers opportunities for learning, prototyping, hosting workshops, working with digital models, and implementing creative ideas - from simple items to more complex projects.

At the new location, 4 presentations have already been held for youth, cultural professionals, and librarians. During these sessions, visitors explored the equipment and its possible applications.

Special attention was given to the plotter - a device for precise cutting and applying images to various materials. Plotters are used to create decorations, stencils, stickers, and even clothing elements.

Visitors also learned about the operation of a modern 3D printer, seeing how physical objects are created from digital models and how this technology can be applied in education and creative projects.

The Maker Space is gradually being restored and expanded, opening up more opportunities for users.
