Let's Talk about the Family and its Values
The United States of America is a multinational country whose customs cannot be reduced to a simple list. Every nation has brought something to American culture, especially family traditions. At the next meeting of the Speaking club at Window on America in Kherson, we compared American and Ukrainian families. People of different family statuses gathered at the event, so it was easy to discuss. Of course, the visitors talked about children and childfree families. The arguments of such families are the effects on women's health, loss of career opportunities due to maternity leave, the rising cost of raising a child, concerns over the effects pregnancy has on the woman's body. Everyone solves such questions independently, and for our visitors, it was a great occasion to speak English.
Despite the quarantine, the library continues to create the best and safest conditions for its users. So next week, we invite you to the club meeting again, provided you show your green COVID certificate.
