Library investigation

December 9 pupils of the city school №12 (20 persons) had “investigation” in library’s department of foreign languages documents. Using commissaire Maigret’s methods children had to find “disappeared” books by Georges Simenon.
The books were successfully found, and children learned much about Georges Simenon’s life and works.
The staff of “Window on America” center told about Simenon’s long period of life in America. He loved America, and was very popular there.
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt by the way was also Simenon’s great admirer and helped his popularity in New York.
Just during his American period Georges Simenon became world-known author.
