Role-playing as a way to learn English
The theme of the first February meeting of the “Easy English for Kids” Speaking Club at Window on America in Kherson was “Visit a restaurant. Food”. The children repeated the names of vegetables, fruits and some dishes using the exercises on the interactive whiteboard. The club members were introduced to a typical dialogue conversation while visiting a restaurant. Victoria, our volunteer and a member of the Youth Leadership Program, invited them to take part in a role-playing game. The most important thing in modern foreign language learning is to teach to use this knowledge in professional and private life. Therefore, the attendants were divided into the waiters and restaurant visitors. They looked at the tips on the board, and played small dialogues, ordering food.
