Women's Day

                                                 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

"Celebrating spring, love, smiles and wishing happiness for all women". That was the slogan for the meeting of the talk club "English for Everyone" on 5/3/2011. First, each of the members spoke about the most important woman in their life. Of course, for most of them it was their mother. Then they broke into groups of 4-5 people. In English, they discussed how, in their opinion, Ukrainian women differ in dealing with problems that they encounter in their lives: smoking, narcotics, alcohol abuse, underage pregnancy, living accommodations, careers and many more. But Ukrainian women are strong in spirit and independent. They differ in their desire for success, beauty, feminity and high levels of education.
  The 34 members talked intensely about these topics, each supporting their opinion. At Saturday's meeting there were also three students from different African countries. They described how women are honored in their countries as well as about women's rights and how opportunities for women have developed there. As usual, it was interesting and fun.
