Architecture Growing from Nature: A Meeting at the «Joy Art» Art Studio

A meeting dedicated to the work of the outstanding American architect and innovator Frank Lloyd Wright was held for the participants of the «Joy Art» art studio.

As part of the «Freedom 250» initiative, the event focused on the life and creative legacy of the artist who fundamentally changed the perception of 20th-century architecture. Participants learned about his key concept of «organic architecture», where a building seems to «grow» from its natural surroundings and harmoniously blends with the landscape. They also discussed his approach to open-plan design, where interiors are not divided into separate rooms but flow smoothly into one another.

Special attention was given to the architect’s most famous projects, including the «Fallingwater» house, as well as interesting facts about how his bold ideas were ahead of their time and influenced modern architecture around the world.

During the creative part of the session, each participant created their own artwork on the theme «A House That Grew from Nature» or «My Dream Home». The works were diverse, yet all were individual and expressive. «It was interesting to let go of the usual idea of separate rooms and think about how a house can be part of nature rather than a separate object. It changed my approach to drawing», shared one of the participants.
