SpeakUp: From Hobby to Big Dream
Everyone has something they’re passionate about. Some people could talk about music for hours; others are into sports or travel, while some find their passion in gaming, photography, books, or creative activities.
That’s where we started our latest SpeakUp club meeting - talking in English about the things we enjoy, how we spend our free time, and what we’ve always wanted to try.
Then we moved on to the idea of the American Dream. What does it mean today? Is it about making lots of money, having a successful career, owning a home, being able to travel, or having a job you truly love?
We compared the traditional idea of success with how many young people see it today: work-life balance, creativity, starting your own business, and the freedom to make your own choices.
And, of course, we did plenty of speaking in English. The participants shared their associations, learned new vocabulary, and practiced using it in conversation. Everyone came up with their own definition of success.
There was no single right answer, and that was the point. We all have our own path, interests, and ideas about what we want to achieve.
