Exploring the Digital Microscope at Maker Space
A workshop at Maker Space introduced participants to the digital microscope. Participants learned about the device’s capabilities and explored how digital magnification can examine small objects in greater detail.
A digital microscope makes it possible to observe details invisible to the naked eye and display magnified images on a screen. These devices are used in education, scientific research, and technical applications.
Did you know? In 1665, English scientist Robert Hooke published Micrographia, a book featuring detailed illustrations of objects observed under a microscope. While examining a thin slice of cork, he noticed a structure made up of tiny compartments, which he called “cells.” The term is still used in biology today.
Exploring the digital microscope expands the opportunities offered by Maker Space, combining modern technology with the discovery of the world around us and the development of research skills.
