Sustainable Development Goals
Sustainable Development Goals, also called the Global Goals, are aimed to end poverty, fight inequality and address the urgency of climate change. The 17 goals were agreed at the UN Summit. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. It is a difficult topic to discuss in English, but we tried it with high-school students of Kherson Gymnasium № 3, where a librarian from Window on America Kherson was invited. We spoke in detail about three of them related to the environment. The students agreed that the UN's goals are important for them, because the future is theirs. Attendees answered open-ended Think-Share Questions and participated in an Environmental quiz.
