What Are Linking Words for?

08.05.2021 15:19

We dedicated the next meeting of the English Grammar Club to linking words because they can make our language richer and clearer for English-speaking people. In addition, they can provide a higher score when passing any exam. Linking words are connecting elements used to convey information clearly and concisely. They are also called transitions. Linking words can be single words (e.g., actually, basically, anyway) or phrases (e.g., to tell the truth, by the way, mind you) and be used in different parts of a sentence. Each such word or phrase has a specific additional meaning, which we explored and used in a speech during the meeting.

Each meeting of the Grammar Club is a challenge and new knowledge, which you can also get every Thursday at 15:00.
