National Guard of Ukraine speaking

2016 is the year of English language in Ukraine. Officers of the National Guard military unit of Kherson asked the Kherson WOA for help in English studying. We agreed. February 29 teaching began. Officers will be taught twice a week.

  February 21 the library’s “Window on America” weekly talk-club meeting was attended by 22 users. Because of tomorrow's birthday of George Washington club members were speaking about him. And they watched a film about interesting things we didn’t know about George Washington.

WOA Spelling bee

February 16, 2016 the pupils of the school № 55 visited the Kherson “Window on America” Center. Children had two contests. The first in WOA Spelling bee and country-specific quiz gave them our prizes. Then they played games on WOA interactive table and interactive whiteboard.

Black History Month

  February 7 the library’s “Window on America” weekly talk-club meeting was attended by 24 users. We had club’s annual observance of Black History Month. We spoke about great inventions made by African-American people. Interesting video helped us.

International Internet-Free Day

2016 is the Year of English Language in Ukraine

  A decree on declaring 2016 as the year of  English language in Ukraine was signed by president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The Kherson “Window on America” Center initiated free English studying in the city council for its staff.  January 19 the first lesson took place.
