05.11.2025 11:12

On the occasion of the European Union's birthday (November 1, 1993), Window on America Center and European Information Center coordinators held an online event for young people and teachers of Kherson and the region - a virtual journey "From the Schuman Plan to the modern EU: a journey through time and space", organized in cooperation with the Kherson City Center for Professional Development of Teachers.
During the meeting, we not only reviewed the history of the European Union's creation but also visited key cities important to the EU's development— Paris, Rome, Maastricht, and Brussels. The participants learned where and why the idea of European unification originated, how its main institutions were formed, and what the modern EU stands for.
Together, we learned the functions and main operation fields of the EU governing bodies. We also talked about the European Union's cooperation with Ukraine, in particular, about the support we feel during the most difficult times of war.
Such meetings remind us that European values are not only about shared borders, but also about a shared vision of peace, democracy, and dignity.
