January 17 is the 310-th anniversary of Benjamin Franklin. He was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, a leading author, printer, politician, postmaster, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat. As a scientist, he was a major figure in the history of physics for his discoveries and theories regarding electricity. As an inventor, he is known for the lightning rod, bifocals, rocking chair and the Franklin stove. He facilitated many civic organizations, including Philadelphia's fire department and a university. Benjamin Franklin’s portrait is on the obverse of the United States one hundred-dollar bill.The Kherson “Window on America” Center devoted an exhibition to this outstanding person.
